Hi! I’m Brook. I’m a wife, mother, and an entrepreneur focusing on earrings. My husband and I have been married for 8 years. Believe it or not, we met on a blind date! He sent me a message prior to our date asking me if the “working out” look bothered me and of course I replied with, “does the not working out look bother you?” It’s really been true love ever since. We live a simple life with 2 boys and our dog Remy. Our marriage and family have gone through 2 deployments and we are still going strong.

This most recent deployment is when I decided to start my blog. My husband is very private and despises social media. With that being said, our last phone call before he left the United States is when I told him about the blog. I simply said, “I hope you have a safe flight, I’m starting a blog and I love you!” My main purpose is to bring awareness to our community that just because we are not living on a base, the reality of war is still real. There are families and wives that are missing half of their heart while keeping their family whole. I really couldn’t have done it without my family, friends, and a community behind me.

By no means am I a poet, trained psychologist, or even a counselor. I proof read with the boys and Remy running in the background while the TV has Nickelodeon or the Disney channel on. This is not the place where you will find grammatical grace. I will promise that I come from a place that is real and genuine. This is a place where you will find you are embraced, empowered, and not alone. No matter what you’re going through. You will always have me in your corner. I had the hardest time pushing that publish button for my first blog. The last thing I wanted was to sound weak or helpless by getting emotions off of my chest. Then I started to think that I can’t be the only one going through this. All the fears, doubts, what if’s all need to come out. It’s how we grow.

My love for accessories has given me the opportunity to team up with a local earring designer and create studs with my husbands uniform he wore in Afghanistan soil. Studs worn by my stud! I have been able to raise money for Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing. An organization that restores faith in those who have served. With that, why not support your local everyone?! Your local soldiers, nurses, firefighters, police men and women, EMTs. Keep your loved ones close to you. Wear them proudly and support their selflessness.

Covid has certainly had its affects on everyone differently. Being home with 2 boys while my husband was overseas is something I was not prepared for. I am thankful for the time of growth it has granted me. This time has given me an opportunity to work beside inspiring women and small businesses. I’m really looking forward to taking this journey with you. The ups and the downs, the achievements and struggles, the joy of life, and love.
